# Eligibility & Access

Backpack Securities is in **public beta**, available to eligible Backpack users in supported regions.

There is no separate stocks account to open or additional verification process to complete. Before your first trade, you'll accept a one-time user agreement.

### Eligibility Requirements

To access Backpack Securities, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Requirement
----------------------------------------------------------
Be located in a supported region
Have a verified Backpack account
Accept the one-time user agreement before your first trade

#### Supported Regions

Backpack Securities isn't available in the **United States, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, or Japan**, and isn't offered on **Backpack EU**. Everywhere else that stocks are permitted, eligible verified users can access it.

Backpack Securities also follows Backpack Exchange's overall country availability: if Backpack Exchange doesn't serve your country in the first place, Backpack Securities won't be available to you either. For the countries Backpack Exchange currently serves, see the [**Supported Regions** ](/exchange/exchange-account/identity-verification/supported-regions.md)page.

If Backpack Securities isn't available in your region, the Stocks section won't appear in your account.

{% hint style="info" %}
It is your responsibility to ensure that your use of Backpack Securities complies with the laws and regulations of your jurisdiction. Availability and eligibility are ultimately governed by the [**Backpack Securities Brokerage Services Terms**.](https://support.backpack.exchange/legal/general-legal/user-agreement)
{% endhint %}

#### Verification (KYC)

Backpack Securities uses the same account verification process as the rest of Backpack.

If your Backpack account is already verified, no further verification is required.

#### Enable Trading

Before placing your first stock order, you'll complete a short one-time agreement.

**How it works**

1. Open any stock and choose **Buy** or **Sell**, then enter a quantity.
2. The first time, the order button reads **Enable Trading** instead of **Preview**. Select it to open the **User Agreement**.

3. Read the disclosure, tick the confirmation checkbox, and choose **Acknowledge**.

4. You'll see a confirmation that you've agreed to the terms, and the button changes to **Preview** so you can continue placing your order.

<div align="left"><figure><img src="https://1790800155-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F3kiM6CAFBZoTCJcZ8X7k%2Fuploads%2F4PN3v2yTvTUqURNB9hBs%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=bfa64a50-805d-4023-97b7-df72ada84f9d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure></div>

You only do this once. After you've acknowledged the agreement, you go straight to **Preview** on every future order.
