# Backpack Securities

Backpack Securities lets you trade **real U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs**, as well as **Stock Perpetuals**, from the same Backpack account as your crypto — one portfolio, settled in USD, with no separate brokerage login.

**Stocks and Stock Perpetuals are different products.** When you buy a stock or ETF, you hold a real **security entitlement**, with the same private property rights you'd have holding shares at firms like Schwab, Fidelity, or Robinhood. **Stock Perpetuals are derivative contracts and do not provide ownership of the underlying stock.**
