# Backpack Securities

Backpack Securities lets you buy and sell **real U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs** from the same Backpack account as your crypto — one portfolio, settled in USD, with no separate brokerage login. When a buy fills, the shares simply appear as a balance alongside the rest of your assets.

These are genuine securities — not synthetic products, CFDs, perpetuals, or wrappers. The shares are held for you as real **security entitlements**: the same private property rights you'd have holding shares at firms like Schwab, Fidelity, or Robinhood. You'll see each stock by its plain ticker, like `AAPL` or `TSLA`.

Trading is **instant and quote-based**: Backpack shows you a live price, you confirm, and your balance updates — no order book, no maker/taker mechanics, no slippage to manage. Stocks and ETFs trade across the U.S. market sessions, Monday to Friday.
